Traditional Uses

Laxative, contains anthraquinone glycosides. Sennosides A and B, Sennidin A & B, and senosides C & D. Glycosides. Acts as a cathartic, anti-parasitic.

Directions

Hot tea: Leaves and pods:Steep the dried leaves, 1/2 - 1 teaspoon, in hot water for 5-10 min. Strain and drink once per day. Limit use to 1-3 nights max or 5-7 nights.
Cold tea: Steep in cold water for 6–8 hours.

Warnings

Consult a medical practitioner before use. Do not use for longer than 10 days. Habitual use will cause lazy bowel syndrome. Do not use if pregnant or lactating.

Side effects may cause cramping, diarrhea, dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, or nausea.

Caution: Laxative dependency can cause melanosis cell harm and liver damage.
