A decoction of oak bark serves as a gargle to alleviate tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, gum bleeding, and mouth ulcers.

Directions

Tea: Put 1 teaspoon of bark in 1 cup of cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 10-15 min. Steep for another 5-10 mins. Strain and drink 1-2 times per day. Do not exceed 7 consecutive days.

Warnings

Consult a medical practitioner before use. Do not use for constipation. Do not use if pregnant or lactating.

Caution: Reduces effectiveness of certain medication; utilise 2 hrs apart from other oral medication. Overconsumption: Irritates the stomach and causes nausea/vomiting.
